There™ Island Guide Management System (TIGMS) Tutorial
(This tutorial was not created, nor endorsed or approved by There™ or the Island Guide Program.)

Welcome, Junior Guide.

You have most likely been swamped with tons of new info about things you never even considered about the virtual world we inhabit.
To make things a little easier, I have put together a small tutorial about how to fill in your service.

*Note: the thereguides.com site is not maintained by Makena Technologies or there.com, so any problem with it should only be reported to the Greeters and not to Help Central.

Let's dive right in, shall we?

(I will assume at this point you will have received your password for TIGMS from Greeter_Josie, since without that, this tutorial is a tad pointless.)

Open the site http://thereguides.com (you can click this link, since it is set to open in a new window)

You will be greeted by the image below:

Use your Avatar name and the password supplied to you by Greeter_Josie to log in.

The first time you'll log in, your service record will of course be empty. Later on it will look a little something like this:
(I have tagged the various items and added an explanation below)

1. This is obviously you
2. The service month. This does *not* indicate how long you have been a Guide. 1 = January, 2 = February and so forth.
3. The service year.
4. The date you did a certain service to the Guides.
5. Who verified your service. Service is verified to make sure people are not just making things up, but actually did something for the Guides.
(This also indicates why it is important to be clear on the details, as we'll see later.)
6. Switch to next overview page. The more service you have done, the more pages there will be, obviously.
7. Open a 'Service dialog' (see below) to report on new services rendered to the Guides.

The 'Service Dialog'.

This is where you will enter the details of what you have done for the Guides.
(I have again tagged it and supplied details below the image)

1. The date on which you rendered your service to the Guides. This can be backdated, but only within the current month.
2. If you helped New Members on the so-called 'Spawn Points' (currently Welcome Walkway, Zona and CC Metro).
(Typically a minimum of half an hour is required. Only ONE credit per day per service-type. 8 hour service does not gain you more credits)
3. If you assisted at a Welcome Event or Integrating Event (see Event Schedule)
4. If you attended an IG meeting (Huddle) or a Special meeting when called by Greeter_Josie. (Max 2 per month)
(Your 'classes' (Session I and II) also count as such.)
5. 'Special Events' are usually events to assist in big events organised for/by Makena Partnerships, such as CosmoGirl or CC Metro events, or by Makena itself.
(Events are only 'Special' when Josie or another Greeter tells you so. (CC Metro also has 'normal' Welcome events))
6. If you hosted your own Welcome event.
*NOTE* You cannot set up your own event nilly-willy and get credit for it. Coordinate with a Greeter first, to make sure it does not hinder or clash with normal IG operations and if a Greeter is on-hand to handle the invites for you.
If your event takes place outside of official Greeter-covered hours, make sure you mention here the Guides that assisted you. Also don't forget to send the 'event email', that indicates visitor numbers, to Greeter_Josie.
7. This is where you clarify your service, like where you did Spawn-duty or which Welcome event you attended.
Make sure to mention the name of the Welcome Event host (Greeter or IG). Keep this short and clear. The Greeters need to go through 300+ reports and have no time to read a novel by you. If no Greeter was on duty, mention a fellow Guide you saw or the name of a new member you helped.
Typical correct entries would be: Welcome Walkway (Greeter_Rose), Paintball Event (Greeter_Dixie), Hosted Welcome buggy event (Assisted by: Andy3003, Percy, Malcom_Landgrabb, RosettaF), IG Huddle.
8. Your totals so far. Minimum required: 8 credits per month. (20 or more points is 'above and beyond' and will let you skip a rank.)

Click 'INSERT' at the bottom of that page to SAVE your report and make it available for a Greeter to verify. You can still edit your report, before it is verified. Once it is verified, it will be locked and cannot be altered anymore.

If for some reason you lost your password or if you got locked out after 3 failed password attempts, contact GREETER_ROSE by Theremail. She is in charge of passwords for TIGMS.

You should now be set to report correctly. If you have any questions, feel free to IM me or email me at Percy.There@gmail.com

Regards,

Senior Island Guide Percy.
